GAZ Group sees sales of 55,000–57,000 LCVs in 2017

MOSCOW, Sep 4 (PRIME) -- Russian carmaker GAZ Group plans to sell 55,000–57,000 light commercial vehicles (LCVs) in 2017, President Vadim Sorokin told reporters on Monday.

“My forecast is that I think we will sell about 67,000 vehicles, including LVC and LDT (light duty trucks). If we take just LCVs, I think it will reach about 55,000–57,000 units,” he said.

He also said that the company exports cars to 51 countries of the world and the European market is not priority for the company.

“In 2015, foreign sales revenue accounted for 22.6% (of total revenue), while in 2016 the figure stood at about 16–17% even after we had increased the number of countries of export,” he said. “Countries where we sell cars are the countries that form their budget on the basis of sales of natural resources. Prices for natural resources have fallen significantly, and budgets and economies of these countries also shrank.”

He declined to disclose export plans of GAZ Group.
